Art is a singular, disembodied voice that rises above the
thousands crying for release back into this world. Artists are mediums attuned
to those voices; we are vessels for spirits that spur us into a frenzied trance
of inspiration, evolving into a dance of possession, culminating with us
splitting into two: The Artist and the
Spirit (the Art).
I reveal the Spirits through mixed-media, figurative
sculpture, collage, and graphic design. Each piece unveils an inspired blend of
diversities within shadow and sparkle, male and female, decay and expansion.
Unexpected intimacy harmonizes with informal, familiar iconography allowing the
individual spirit that dwells within each piece to speak personally through the
media freed from linear and binary limitations.
My art is a product of possession: a dance of wills, a
sparring of visions, and the jousting of words. Yet, each piece that lies
finished before me is perfect in its peace and brilliant in its intended
energy. It is as if this artistic labor was nothing more than a deliberate
illusion that engrossed me enough to accomplish the spirit's mission. Its
mission is to find you.
